Red 7 was the $14,000 boar pig that Lackey Livestock bought with us at the 2015 Entourage sale in Lubbock, Texas. He comes from one of the most powerful generating sows to ever be utilized at Bobells’. The litter he came from was incredible and included four sale makers at Texas majors and what may be the very best keeper gilt retained by Bobell in the last five years. Red 7 was one of the most impressive 50 pounders we’ve ever purchased. He had an impeccable skeleton, a stout, neat head, huge bones, perfect feet and toes, and the right kind of muscle. We had a scare when he was about 100 pounds when he had a severe strep infection set in and we thought we were going to lose him. Dr. Jeff Logue’s efforts are the only reason he is alive and well. This is a genetic giant that should generate correctness of skeleton, design, look, and consistency as shown throughout his litter.
